Blackberries, among others, grow wild all over the PNW, from Northern California to Canada, and are about as invassive as it gets in terms of vine throwing plants. Covered in thorns, they are also a pain to manage when planting them in a yard. Driving around where I live offers views of expansive timber clearings that reveal what life is like within the canopy. Where there is evidence of a creek, even if it's seasonal, the cutters are forbidden from taking trees that provide shade to that creek. This is done to maintain water temperatures in the tributaries they flow in to. Essentially protecting fish. Throughout the year, we get super high tides above 10 feet and super low tides at ~-2 feet. Today, at 6:30AM we had the low-low tide, revealing all sorts of sealife that clings to the rocks at the Jetty. Gooseneck barnacles, sea anenome, tiny crabs, and stuff that get stuck from people's fishing gear. It always amazes me to see the beach grow by several hundred feet. More images to come....
